Hypermodern chess opening. Here is the
chess notation:
1. b4
The two intial ideas when playing the Sololsky are, place the black squared bishop on b2 and Place the b4 pawn on b5. The bishop attacks the center from the side and looks for combinations that allow it to threaten the rook directly diagonal to it. The pawn once moved up to b5 limits the mobility of your opponents knight. It is a good offensive opening which leads to an open board in the main lines but can also create quite a closed board. It is not as powerfull as the King Pawn openings but, since it is rarely used, it throws people off.
