Shochu are one of my favourite flowers for ikebana.

To make a perfect arrangement, all that one needs are three iris blossoms at three different stages of opening.

Cut the stems under running water at three different heights.

Place on the pins of a kenzan (I think they are also called "frogs" for some reason) in a shallow black bowl.

Fill the bowl with fresh water.

Beautiful, dignified, strong.
