A poem for Halloween. Start out slow, then speed up as you reach the end. Please enjoy!

She runs

thin sweat glistens on her skin,
a piercing scream comes from within,
she runs

sharp thorns tearing at her side,
clothing ripped, no place to hide,
she runs

a horrid creature chasing her,
its awful features just a blur,
she runs

branches breaking in her path,
seeking shelter from its wrath,
she runs

a thorny vine cuts deep her thigh,
blood drips in a jagged line,
she runs

no hiding place she passes by,
how much longer can she fly,
she runs

a root appears, amidst the path,
she trips, she falls, do the math!

She's done.
