The sound made by moon boots as you tromp through a thick layer of fresh white snow. Snow has the property of absorbing sound, causing one to become much more aware of their own footstep noises.
IMHO there are few noises more pleasing to the ear. Compare with the "shoosh" sound of walking through fallen leaves in autumn.
