The sultan in the Arabian Nights, who after being betrayed by his wife the sultaness, and then witnessing the treachery of the Genie's Lady, resolves to marry and execute one woman every night. This continues till Scheherazade enchants him with a thousand and one nights of tales, the tales which become the basis for the Arabian Nights.
