A region in Eastern Finland. Biggest towns in the region are Kuopio, Mikkeli, Savonlinna, Iisalmi and Varkaus.

Generally stereotypedly the people of Savo are, well, jolly. (This is Legendary.)

The Savo dialect of Finnish is considered (by non-linguists, mainly) to be a language of its own. Indeed, Savo dialect may well be one of the most easily-recognisable dialect. Some other Easter Finnish dialects (such as Kainuu dialect) are somewhat similiar to Savo.
