OK, I feel obliged to defend the city in which I grew up.

Saskatoon is a thriving city, the population is growing and has recently exceeded 200,000 people. Despite its relatively small size it is rapidly becoming a center for high-tech business. Recent developments include the construction of a synchotron at the university (which by the way is top in the country for vet-med) and construction of a bunch of new hotels for business travellers. It is also the home of innovation place, a large research park in which numerous big-name corporations have offices.

Saskatoon is a beautiful city, built on the south saskatchewan river which offers excellent hiking and biking. There is an active arts community and Saskatoon is the host of one of the best of the intenational fringe festivals.

I could say more, but hopefully you get the point...
