Yet another one of those mystical puns. San Graal means "Holy Grail". Sang Real means "Royal Blood". According to some forms of the legend, the Holy Grail is not merely the cup of the first Eucharist, but also a repository of the blood of Jesus. Some -- see Holy Blood, Holy Grail -- have taken this as a metaphor for the bloodline of Jesus, preserved in the Merovingian Kings of France.

San`graal" (?), San"gre*al (?), n. [See Saint, and Grail.]

See Holy Grail, under Grail.
