A rescue of this node will now commence...

Born in 1945. Known popularly as Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, Mr. Gravano was an enforcer in the Gambino family until he turned government witness 10 years ago, resulting in the arrest and conviction of 36 of his former colleagues, including mob boss John Gotti. He himself admitted to 19 murders, including his brother-in-law, but as part of the witness deal, he served less than five years in prison.

Amazingly enough, after he left the witness protection program in 1997 to promote his biography, "Underboss", Gravano and his son, Gerard, found the means to start up a little crime syndicate of his own. Members of the Devil Dogs, a white supremacist group of young males, made Gravano their leader as they built an Ecstasy distribution empire in the Phoenix, Arizona region, where Gravano's family was hiding under witness protection. He was arrested in February of 2000 and both he and his son recently pleaded guilty to federal drug charges, facing a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
