The
Royal Tyrrell Museum of
Paleontology was opened in
1985, in
Midland Provincial Park, near
Drumheller,
Alberta.
With full facilities, this is an excellent establishment in which a person can take their kids to enjoy prehistoric life: a 200 seat auditorium, research library, research laboratories, and other amenities. Dr. David Baird is the present director. It has more than 200 hundred dinosaur skeletons on display at any one time, the most of any paleological museum anywhere in the world.
The Museum was named after Joseph Burr Tyrrell, who found the first albertosaurus hear the site in 1884.
