The main character in the anime Big O, Roger Smith is a professional negotiator. Honest with his clients, he always finishes a job he's been paid for... even if the client dies before it's compleation. His clients can trust that when they have paid Roger for his services, he will render them to the best of his abilities.
In the series he is hired by R. Dorothy Waneright to protect her, and although he at first turns her down, after her "grandfather"'s death he takes her up on it. As she has no way to pay him, she becomes a member of the household, and turns out to be a valuable asset.
