Robert Lucas

Economist, currently at the University of Chicago, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1995.

He transformed macroeconomic analysis using the hypothesis of rational expectations to develop an equilibrium theory of the business cycle. His main insights are on the difficulties of using economic policy to control macroeconomic variables.
