b.1918 - d.1932
Famous canine film star from the silent movie era. Rin Tin Tin made the transition to talking (barking) pictures in 1929, but by then he was old and his star fading.

This Hollywood German Shepherd made all but his first two and last two films for Warner Bros. -- their only consistent box office success throughout the 1920's. He was also instrumental in the rising career of Darryl F. Zanuck - who wrote the screenplay for several of Rin's films (under the name Gregory Rodgers).

Rin Tin Tin was born in France. He was handled by Lee Duncan.

In the 1950's "Rin Tin Tin" was a short-lived television series.
