Ralph Records was the
label created by the band
the Residents when it became apparent to them that no one else would be
crazy enough to put out their
music. The name came from the phrase
"calling Ralph on the porcelain telephone". They also worked with other
artists eventually, such as
Tuxedomoon,
Fred Frith,
Renaldo and the Loaf,
Half Japanese, and
Negativland. They have an excellent
compilation out (one of many, actually) called
Potatoes, a wide selection of severely
twisted folk music for the
future.
