The Rainbow Serpent is a central creation spirit in Australian Aboriginal mythology. The Rainbow Serpent is a great snake, which forms the land with it's bodily motion across the land. The rivers and valleys were created in their undulating paths by the action of the Serpent. The home of the Rainbow Serpent is believed to be east of the Kimberleys, where the rainbow meets the earth.
