One of the five Istari (wizards) that came across the seas to Middle-Earth to battle the evil of Sauron. Radagast was "the brown", and had an extremely strong rapport with animals of all kinds. Less powerful than Gandalf the gray and Saruman the white, but apparently stronger than the two blue wizards, he unwittingly plays a large role in the ending of the third age when he sends Gandalf to Saruman, not realizing Saurman had "fallen". After this, the treason was recognised and later corrected when Gandalf was reborn as the White after his battle with the balrog.
