I'm feeling her pulse and the warmth coming out
from the triangle of her neck and chest exposed
my fingers press in, tracing
the slant of clavicle, the beginnings of ribcage
the dainty grain of white rice in a sealed flask of water
with her name inked on, made a necklace
the grain of her hand holding still over mine
we stand there with her eyes closed
breathing me, exhaling me
her pulse grows larger, filling the room
emptying into my hand
while the rest of her and the world falls away
