A crossroads cum ghost town, likely to inspire a rousing banjo-solo, located at the intersection of state secondaries 619 and 602 (Purdy Road and Smokey Ordinary Road) in Greensville County, Virginia.

The speed limit through town is 35mph, and is strictly enforced. The center of town is that intersection, which is marked by a four-way stop sign. Retail establishments include a bait shop and a very eclectic general store which sells everything from illegal fireworks to fresh vegetables to home appliances.

Name of town is also how town residents pronounce the English word spelled "pretty." "Yep, ah got me some reeeal purdy tomatoes this year, yes sirrr eee." Purdy the town, however, is not particularly aesthetically pleasing. Consider the irony.
