Project Grudge was the second official United States Air Force project to examine UFO reports. Started in 1949 and operating for only eight months, its mandate was to find conventional explanations for all reported UFO sightings. Examining 244 UFO reports, it gave physical explanations for all but 56, which were attributed to "psychological explanations". It was later reactivated as Grudge II, which became Project Blue Book.
