Main character in S.E. Hinton's young adult novel The Outsiders. Ponyboy is part of the Greasers, one of two warring groups of teenagers in his home town. A stabbing during a scuffle with their enemies the Socs drives Ponyboy and his friend Johnny into hiding. Played by C. Thomas Howell in the 1983 film version.
