| Pinotage is a South African red varietal wine. The story I've heard is that when French immigrants came to South Africa, they brought grape stock and the French winemaking methods with them. From the taste, a pinotage wine tends to be light, like a pinot noir, but with a bit more tannin. It's an excellent wine to go with curry or other spicy food. |
