Pilchard is exceptional, as he is bright blue in colour, and he can scratch not only faces but records, as you can see in the video to the number-one hit pop song Bob the Builder. Stuffed toy versions of Pilchard have their head cocked at an amusing angle, which combines with his expression to make him perfect for leaving somewhere where he can look at people as they pass by, such as in a window or a corridor. He is extremely cute.
