1462-1521
A Renaissance painter that worked for the Medici family and painted part of the Sistine Chapel 30 years before Michelangelo. He used both tempera and oil paints. His paintings tend to be symmetrical with carefully rendered figures. He also created a distinction between foreground and backround that artists of previous generations had been unable to accomplish.
He was a student of Cosimo Roselli from whom he got his last name.
