In 1954, Louise and Walter Arensberg donated their entire collection of early Modern Art to the museum. In this collection were the world's largest collection of work by Marcel Duchamp who came in person to install the work. Together, this is known as "The Louise and Walter Arensberg Collection" which has it's own wing. Among Duchamp's work is the infamous Nude Descending a Staircase that provoked such a controversy at the Armory Show 1913. It also includes The Bride Stripped Bare By Her Bachelors, Even, L.H.O.O.Q. and a reproduction by the artist of the Readymade Fountain.
The Rodin museum has 124 sculptures.
