Here's a recipe for pecan pie that I got from my mother. The original recipe came from some cookbook, but she has made several modifications.

Southern Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Mix sugar with butter until fluffy.
  2. Add syrup and salt, beating well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
  4. Stir in crushed pecans.
  5. Pour mixture into pastry shell.
  6. Carefully coat top of filling with pecan halves.
  7. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
