Boone, backed by a variety show orchestra of L.A. studio-musician types, sings his new 45 "Tutti Frutti", part of a campaign by the major labels to pre-empt the burgeoning popularity (among white teenagers) of black rhythm and blues artists. Compared to the Dionysian Demigod's original, Boone, with his quaint sense of "rhythm", and willful cluelessness vis-à-vis the song's content, created a masterpiece of Bad TV.
