Peptide nucleic acids. Same as RNA but with a N-(2-aminoethyl)glycine backbone. This is (NCCN(C(=O)CR)CC=O) where R is the base (see SMILE string for details).

This unusual molecule forms stronger double helices than RNA and has some medical applications (possibly) in the field of antisense drugs.

PNA - the Palestinian National Authority. This is the body setup under the Accords to run the Palestinian Authority areas. These are the territories formerly occupied by Israel (and prior to 1948 forming Mandatory Palestine)
