A lane on a pinball machine that leads to the drain or outhole. Distinguished from inlane, a lane that returns the ball to a flipper, and often separated from an inlane only by a small post. Most pinball machines have two, at the extreme edges of the playfield. Try to keep the ball away from the outlanes.
