The Orinoco River is the 13th longest river in South America and the 58th longest river in the world. It begins in Colombia and flows through Venezuela into the Caribbean Sea. The Orinoco is a major transportation route and economic lifeline for Venezuela.

The Orinoco is home to some interesting creatures, including the Amazon River Dolphin, the Caribe Piranha, and the Orinoco Crocodile, which is one of the most endangered reptiles in the world with less than 250 left in existence.
