The Order is one of the highest awards the USSR had. It was established on May 5,1930 and the first was awarded to Komsomolskaya Pravda on its fifth anniversary for promoting "socialist constructivism". The first military OOL was given to Roman Panchenko.

The order has a bust of Lenin in its center, surrounded by gold wreath, a red flag bearing V.I.'s name., a hammer and sickle and a red star. You can buy ones that have floated out of the former-USSR, but be prepared to pay a hefty price.
