A medicaid applicant may be eligible for old age assistance if they are over sixty five. A single OAA person with no legally responsible relatives would probably be eligible for medicaid if they had less than three thousand in the bank, no life insurance with cash value and income of less than $625.00 per month (as of 2001, this number increases annually).

If their income was over that amount, they might still be eligible with an overage. If you subtracted $20 from their income and then six hundred twenty five from the result, you might have the amount they need to pay (assuming they're eligible at all) each month before medicaid could pay the rest of their bills.
