Oblies (sense 1 more than sense 2) are stereotypically described as weird, liberal, hippie, openminded, etc. This stereotype may have been true years ago. Today, however, thanks to the demise of need-blind admissions at the College, many Obies are now the same narrow-minded whitebread upper-middle-class suburbanites one finds at so many other schools.
