The mother of
Chandler Bing, a character on the
NBC sitcom Friends. She is played by
Morgan Fairchild.
Nora was divorced from Chandler's father when Chandler was young, which scarred him for life. Her husband announced his homosexuality over
Thanksgiving dinner in
1978. He is now the proprietor of
Viva Las Gaygas.
She is a very successful romance novelist whose works include
Euphoria at Midnight. After her appearance on The
Tonight Show, she visits Chandler in
New York. While out at dinner with Chandler and his Friends, she kisses
Ross Geller to cheer him up - he's depressed because of
Rachel Green's relationship with
Paolo. This, of course, causes much comedic consternation.
