It never worked out, but I really meant to. I wanted to see what it was like to share properly, to become part of an entity. I'd use your soap and you'd use my little razor and we'd share the same soaking towel.

We'd both wear your shirts, (one apiece) and we'd both light up and lean into each other and exhale, smoke mingling. And then stub them out, glowing cigarette butts side by side, and lie down.

The you and the me - the us - and we'd share the same slow smile, same pillow, same bed. We'd smell like the same good things, of light and sunshine, and in the twining and tasting we wouldn't be able to tell where one left off and the other began.
