NetCaptor is a tabbed internet browser powered by an Internet Explorer plugin, meaning it is more of an extension to IE than a full browser, such as Mozilla. This is actually more of an advantage, as Netcaptor can view basically any page on the Internet due to essentially being Internet Explorer (sadly the current de facto standard), and the download is under one megabyte, as opposed to the typical 30-meg download session from hell associated with most web browsers.

Netcaptor, as mentioned above, is a tabbed browser, which means that rather than each page you're viewing getting its own instance of the browser, each page will reside in its own tab, with only one master button on the taskbar. This can be great for those nights when you're juggling twenty pages at once while high on Skyrocket - truly a beautiful thing. If it crashes - a rare event - your session has been saved, and you need only start it back up, and voila - every page you were viewing is still open, and you can resume your surfing only mildly vexed, as opposed to going insane with anger.

Another great feature of NetCaptor - and my personal favorite, you will see why - is the PopUpCaptor. It eliminates those godforsaken perversions of JavaScript known as Popup ads, and their variations, such as Popunder ads. It actually works, blocking a good 90% of all popup ads out of the box, and if an ad ever gets through, you need only hit F8 and you'll never hear from it again. If this wasn't overdue, I don't know what is.

The only problem is, like Opera, another tabbed browser, NetCaptor is shareware, so you have to pay for it or it will eventually stop working. Registration is $29.99, which may or may not be fair considering the relatively small amount of coding involved in the creation of the browser.

Netcaptor has won several industry awards, including the "People's Choice Award for Best Internet Enhancement" and "The Shareware Industry Award for Best Internet Communication." As of 9/14/2002, the latest final version is 7.0.1, with 7.0.2beta the bleeding-edge latest release.
