Naval Nuclear Reactor Operator

The lucky Electronics Technician (ET) in the U.S. Navy that is trained for 18 months to operate the nuclear reactors on board Naval Submarines and Aircraft Carriers. Training begins at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, SC. After six months of Nuclear Field Electronics Technician 'A' school and six months of Nuclear Power School, the ET advances to Nuclear Prototype Training Unit in either Charleston or Balston Spa, NY.
