Naples is also a small city in Southwest Florida, approximately 40 miles south of Fort Myers, or about 110 miles north of Miami traveling up interstate 75. It is popular for its upscale real estate and shopping environment, particularly by way of clothing designers like Donatella Versace and Giorgio Armani who have shops all over Naples. The city also boasts the finest restaurants in SW Florida (according to the local News-Press at least). It was actually named after the city in Italy when it was under the control of the Spanish, for some strange reason :-)
