Mycoplasma is a pathogen that infects living beings, plants, humans or animals and it's not classified as a bacteria or virus. Because of the lack of cell-walls, Mycoplasma is a member of the mollicute family. Generally, in that context it is described as a virus-like infection agent.

Mycoplasma is nowadays associated as the cause of the Gulf War Syndrome. See also pneumonia.
