My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
My Bonnie lies over the sea.
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
Please bring back my Bonnie to me.

Bring back,
Bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me.
Bring back,
Bring back,
Oh, bring back my Bonnie to me.

nursery rhyme

This nursery rhyme was redone as a rock-n-roll song called "My Bonnie" by singer Tony Sheridan around 1960 with the Beatles as his backing band (under the name of "The Beat Brothers" originally). This version can be found on the Beatles compilation Anthology 1.

It was a guy looking to buy this single in the record store run by Brian Epstein for his family that first brought the Beatles to the attention of Epstein, who became their manager.

Here's how to play "My Bonnie" on the harmonica. (Numbers are the holes, a '-' means draw)
 6 8 -8 7 -8 7 -6 6 5
My Bon-nie lies ov-er the o-cean,
 6 8 -8 7 7 -7 7 -8
My Bon-nie lies ov-er the sea,
 6 8 -8 7 -8 7 -6 6 5
My Bon-nie lies ov-er the o-cean,
 6 -6 -8 7 -7 -6 -7 7
Oh bring back my Bon-nie to me.
  6 7 -6 -8
Bring back, bring back,
 7 -7 -7 -7 -7 -6 -7 7 -8 8
Oh bring back my Bon-nie to me, to me,
  6 7 -6 -8
Bring back, bring back,
 7 -7 -7 -7 -7 -6 -7 7
Oh bring back my Bon-nie to me.
