Mozzarella sticks are just that - sticks of
mozzarella cheese, lightly breaded and
fried. They are a very tasty snack. For a while, it seemed like you could only get them at places like
Denny's or order them as bar food, but now they are
everywhere. You can get them at
Burger King,
Arby's, and
Jack In The Box. They are everywhere and they are delicious!
Of course, fried cheese is not good for you, but this is a yummy snack to indulge in once in a while. I love these things so much that I have to share a little something I wrote about them.
Ode to a Mozzarella Stick

You steam so invitingly on my plate
Little golden cylinder
Light brown and crispy on the outside
And I know you'll be gooey on the inside
I pick you up and take a bite
The cheese burns my tongue
Its the pain of love
I do it for you because I love you so much
Gooey cheese fills my mouth
Its like heaven on the tongue
I dip you in the marinara
Take another bite, and moan in delight
You taste so good
Dipped in ranch, marinara, or no sauce at all
I look at the empty plate
And a tear falls from my eye
