Motel 6 is a chain of wildy successful, low budget motels, located in the United States and Ontario, Canada. They have over 800 locations and are still growing.

The appeal of Motel 6 is it's affordability. The average cost of a night's stay at motel 6 is about $40.00 US, single person.

Motel 6 offers a number of shall we say... "no frills" frills; such as a pool, and location adjacent Denny's or IHOP restaurants. Despite the low budget bit of the chain, they are all in all a good place to shack up.

Named for its original price of $6 a night. Motel 6 was founded in Santa Barbara, California in 1962. The original motel still remains open for business, but unfortunately, not the price. Nowadays, it's known for its commercials featuring the never seen, but always heard, Tom Bodett.

Motel 6 is owned by Accor Economy Lodging and has more than 800 locations in the United States and Canada.
