Built along the shores of its namesake bay, Morro Bay, California is a popular tourist stop for people going to San Francisco, Hearst Castle, San Luis Obispo, or generally somewhere along the coast of Central California. The city's most famous landmark, is approxmately 400 feet off shore, the "Gibraltar of the Pacific," Morro Rock.

Although generally a sleepy town with a population under 20,000. Morro Bay sports great seafood restaurants (Try their clam chowder!) and a nice aquarium. For those looking for silly novelty landmarks, check out the giant chessboard in the city's Central Park. Cabrillo Highway passes through the town.
