In the Babylon 5 universe, the Minbari Civil War started (and ended) in 2261 after Delenn dissolved the Grey Council. With no recognized ruling body, the warrior caste then tried to seize control, casting the religious caste out into the wastelands between cities and later killing them outright. This was the first time Minbari had killed other Minbari in over a thousand years, since before Valen came and created the Grey Council.
