Medford is also a city in Massachussetts near somerville to the north of Boston. In proper Bostonian it is prononuced "Meffa".

It is also the city where the song jingle bells is said to have been written.

Medford is also one of the towns through which Paul Revere rode on horseback. If you happen to visit Medford, you can walk or drive along Paul Revere's ride -- there are numerous signs indicating the path of his journey. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow also mentioned it in a well-known poem, Paul Revere's Ride:

It was twelve by the village clock
When he crossed the bridge into Medford town.
He heard the crowing of the cock,
And the barking of the farmer's dog,
And felt the damp of the river-fog,
That rises when the sun goes down.
