Cleveland's late, great Peter Laughner recorded a harrowing solo acoustic version of Robert Johnson's "Me and the Devil" on the last day of his life. Unfortunately, copies of this recording are incredibly hard to come by. The last time the song was officially published was back in 1994 on a collection of Laughner's work called Take the Guitar Player for a Ride, which was released on Tim Kerr Records. Unfortunately, the label folded about two years later, and the material has remained out of print ever since.

Laughner's performance of "Me and the Devil" is wonderfully dirty and terribly prophetic, considering the fact that he would die of acute pancreatitis only hours after recording it.
