Gregorian's first album, released in 1999.

This album has 12 really great choir covers (gregorian chant with background instruments) of Big Hits. This is one of those albums you really need to hear to believe - for example, the version of The Sound Of Silence is probably the most beautiful version I've heard. I cried. =) Really clever album, well worth checking out.

Tracks:

  1. Brothers in Arms (Dire Straits)
  2. Scarborough Fair (Trad. / Simon and Garfunkel)
  3. Tears in Heaven (Eric Clapton)
  4. Still I'm Sad
  5. When A Man Loves A Woman
  6. Nothing Else Matters (Metallica)
  7. Fade To Gray
  8. Losing My Religion (REM)
  9. Vienna (Ultravox)
  10. The Sound Of Silence (Paul Simon)
  11. Sebastian
  12. Don't Give Up (Peter Gabriel)
  13. Save A Prayer*
  14. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (U2)*

* These two seem to appear in year 2000 release, not in the original version.

(Granted, my knowledge of original performers is lacking - I filled what I could from my memory and from other nodes. Help, anyone???)

There's also a music video, also available on DVD with commentary, interviews and stuff, of the group in Santiago de Compostela. Very good DVD, and lots of pretty scenery!

Followed up by Masters of Chant Chapter II.
