Prior to joing the Herald-Sun, Knight worked for its ancestor the Melbourne Herald as well as the Australian Financial Review.

Both Knight's drawing ability and his sense of humour are questionable. He usually has a reactionary/populist take on issues, and in general Knight's cartoons range from the simply unfunny to the offensive. In deference to the average level of Herald-Sun readers, Knight generally includes a small figure (is it a pig?) in a corner of the cartoon explaining the joke.
