Apart from being the front man of The Fall, Mark E. Smith has also made some interesting collaborations with other bands. One of the most successful is his appearance on the single I Want You by fellow Mancunians Inspiral Carpets. After recording the single, one of the carpets described the recording session using a line from the lyrics: "No one ever said it was gonna be easy."
Another example of Mr. Smith's antics is a brilliant interview from NME where some clever journalist came up with the idea of inviting Mark E. Smith, Nick Cave, and Shane MacGowan from the Pogues to a pub and try to get an inteview. The results were as expected... interesting.
