The Mallampati score is a scoring system that tries to predict how easily a person is to be intubated for airway resuscitation.

A patient's Mallampati score depends on how much of the patient's pharynx is visible on opening his/her mouth. Higher scores suggest more difficult intubations but the correlation is not always reliable.
