Counterculture (at least a watered-down, commercialized version of it) is now mainstream. Does that mean that to rebel against the mainstream, people will now have to be even more drastic - either going extreme-counter-culture (eg death/black metal and associated trappings) or going the other way (eg listening to classical music and wearing...well...I have no idea...)?

It's certainly an interesting idea.
